Format and Content:The essay topic should focus on how the participant would use a $100.00 grant to increase access to healthy food in their community (e.g. school, neighborhood, place of worship)
Each essay should be a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 300. In your outline, please include: 1. How many people you intend to impact; 2. They key people who will help you implement your plan; and 3. One year from now, what does your project look like (your end goal)? How do you measure it's success? |
Judging and Prizes:The entries will be judged by selected members of the JLDOC on creativity, originality, overall quality and adherence to the theme. The decision of the judges is final.
Winners will be announced on April 28, 2018 and invited to attend the JLDOC meeting on May 3, 2018. Two winners will each receive a one hundred dollar grant to enact his/her plan over the summer; with the option to attend the JLDOC August meeting to present their progress/success to the league. The two teachers whose classes have the most submissions will each be awarded a $100 prize. |
Each submission constitutes permission for the JLDOC to use the participant's name, likeness, biographical information, photo, and content of essay in any advertising and promotion without notification or compensation. All entries, become sole property of the JLDOC. Entrants agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decision of the judges.
